What's the next chapter say?

Well here we go, I figured this is a good time to start writing a blog again, and since this one is already in existence I figured I might as well use it.

As most of you that are going to be reading this know, I am no longer enrolled at Valley Forge and am currently taking a year off to figure out what God has planned for me, or at least what the next step is. So these past few months I've spent coaching a youth soccer team in Upper Darby, we went undefeated 8-0, or 12-0 can't remember but we won the championship by a final score of 2-1, our closest game of the season. I also was hired at EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports) and worked there up until Jan. 2, 2012. This last week I've just been taking time to pack, and prepare myself for the next several months of my life.

This is where the story continues. On tuesday I will be getting on an airplane at JFK airport and landing in Casablanca, Morocco. I'll be in Morocco for about a week before I move on to West Africa. For the next 7 months I will be working with a soccer club to help coach the goalkeepers, and construct a soccer academy. I am very much looking forward to being back home for the week, but must admit that I am a little nervous about moving to a whole new country, culture, and people. I have no doubt that God will use me in mighty ways, as well as teach me many things about who he is, and how I fit into His plan, cause ultimately he's the lead.

Lately I've been listening to a song by Lecrae about this, it's called "Background" and the chorus goes, "I can play the background, sometime I know I get in the way, so won't you take lead, and I can play the background and you can take lead." and that's been my prayer lately, that God would take the lead in my life. I've spent too much time and too many years trying to run my own life, and take charger of what I do, but I'm slowly learning that I need to let God take charge, and I need to shut up and enjoy the ride.

As the days and hours start to count down, it's slowly becoming more real that I won't be around my family, and friends for a while. I'm realizing that this is going to take a leap of faith that God knows what He's doing, of this I have no doubt but I still like to be in control. I'm mostly packed, except for a few little things here and there, which I will be buying later on today. It's interesting trying to pack for 7 months to a destination you know very little about. I'm glad I have people over there that have helped me figure out what I need.

Well I need to close this out and get to bed, but I hope you will keep me in your prayers and thoughts as I embark on this new journey, new chapter of my life. A chapter that hopefully will be written on here, or written down somewhere. My only question is what will it say, and how important will it be in the overall story of my life? Only God knows, but I'm expecting greatness!

God Bless,

Mark
